Who we're looking for:
We are looking for versatile, detail-oriented Open-Shift Rental & Inventory Technicians to join our roster at DFI Rentals. This is not an immediate start — all applicants must be approved and complete our in-house training before they are eligible to pick up shifts. Once approved, you’ll be part of our on-call roster and can sign up for available shifts when they fit your schedule.This role supports both our Rental Department and Inventory Department, ensuring smooth rental operations and maintaining our high standards for equipment quality. Ideal for industry freelancers and crew members who work on set but want flexible, part-time rental house work.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in a film equipment rental house, production, or similar technical role (AC, Loader, DIT, Grip, Electric, etc.)
Demonstrated knowledge of professional cinema equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and accessories
Advanced technical understanding of cinema camera systems (ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon) and premium optics
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure
Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
Outstanding communication and customer service skills
Proficiency in rental management software a plus
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to our DTLA location
The Role:
Schedule: On-call/freelance — shifts are posted and you choose which to accept; typical shifts are 9am–5:30pm
Work Location: In person – 3610 S San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90011
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
Order Processing: Process and coordinate rental orders from booking to return, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Equipment Preparation: Prepare and stage rental orders, performing basic testing and verification of equipment functionality
Inventory Control: Inspect and test returned gear, flag issues, document damages/missing items, and confirm operational status
Check-in/Check-out Management: Oversee equipment handoffs with clients, maintaining detailed records of equipment condition
Inventory Management: Track equipment location, update rental software, and help maintain an organized warehouse
Basic Technical Support: Troubleshoot and assist with minor repairs under supervision
Customer Interface: Provide exceptional service to clients during pickups, returns, and phone/email inquiries
Facility Organization: Keep rental and inventory areas clean, organized, and workflow-ready
How It Works:

We’re looking for a creative, detail-oriented Social Media Content Creator to join our team at DFI Rentals.
This is a part-time freelance role designed for someone who lives and breathes social media — who understands what makes content perform, trends take off, and videos get shared.You’ll be responsible for creating and posting engaging social media content that showcases our gear, behind-the-scenes setups, on-set content with major clients, and day-to-day at DFI Rentals. You should be comfortable working around cinema equipment, collaborating with our rental team, and capturing content that reflects our brand’s visual quality.
The Role
Core Responsibilities:
Plan, film, and edit content for posting 3 times per week across Instagram, and other platforms.
Create a mix of Reels and photo posts that highlight equipment, sets, experiences, or rental operations.
Develop and execute creative ideas aligned with current social media trends.
Collaborate with our inventory team to feature new inventory, BTS moments, and special projects.
Maintain consistent branding, tone, and visual style across platforms.
Track and analyze post performance to guide future content.
Ideal Qualifications and Experience
Strong understanding of social media trends and what performs across different platforms.
Proficiency in short-form video editing (Final Cut Pro, Davinci Resolve, CapCut, Premiere, or similar tools).
Experience filming content — either on a phone or camera (cinema experience a plus).
Knowledge of or interest in film equipment (ARRI, RED, Sony, lenses, lighting, etc.) preferred.
Creative eye for framing, lighting, and storytelling.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
How It Works
