FAQs

What is a “total replacement value”?

The total replacement value is the replacement value of all of your rented equipment added together. You can find the replacement value of your order at online checkout, or at the bottom of your rental order/quote.

What if the equipment is damaged, lost or stolen?

We will contact you for next steps in the event of a loss or damage. Your liability in the event of a loss or damage depends on the coverage option you have purchased. Generally, you are only liable up to your deductible amount.

Can I postpone or reschedule my DFICover if I need to change my rental dates?

Yes, but only if you notify us BEFORE your rental start date.

Once your rental period begins, DFICover cannot be postponed, rescheduled, or transferred retroactively. If you need to change your rental dates, please contact us before your scheduled pickup time. If you do not pick up your equipment on the scheduled date and haven't notified us beforehand, your coverage remains active for the original period and cannot be extended or moved. Equipment not picked up remains reserved and unavailable to other customers during this time.

What is a damage waiver?

Damage waivers are available at the time of rental to safeguard your equipment during the rental period. While not insurance, these waivers provide essential protection, eliminating the need for renters to purchase separate physical damage insurance.

How does this differ from the coverage opt-out?

coverage opt-out is limited to orders under $3000 in replacement value. While coverage-opt out merely waives your requirement to carry coverage, it does not protect you in the event of damage or loss to the rented equipment. You are still liable for the damage and loss under the coverage opt-out option.

DFICover provides damage and theft coverage to your rented equipment, provided that through evidence is provided to support your claim. Your maximum liability is limited to $1000.
