At DFI Rentals, our mission is to provide streamlined cinema equipment rentals for our customers from booking to pickups, to returns.

We’re a full-service rental company located in Downtown Los Angeles that carries everything from camera, lenses, lighting, grip, and other production equipment.

  • As we navigate this digital age where content is king, our aim is to lead from the front — and we're seeking individuals like you to captivate our audience across myriad platforms, from the dynamic world of social media to the expansive digital landscape of YouTube.

    Who we’re looking for:

    A digitally-savvy individual in tune with content trends, who can adeptly distinguish between a reel, a TikTok, and a YouTube vlog. Someone with the instinct to capture moments in compelling snapshots and videos that echo with a wide audience.

    Eligibility:

    • Students currently enrolled in a university from their second year onwards.

    • Universty graduates looking for an intern-level role.

    • Majors related to filmmaking, video production, or a closely related field are preferred.

    Key Qualifications:

    • A foundational understanding of film production, editing, and the digital content spectrum.

    • Familiarity or hands-on experience with camera equipment and digital software tools, especially Adobe Premiere Pro, Davinci Resolve, After Effects, and Photoshop.

    • Ability to produce high-caliber photos and videos tailored to various digital platforms.

    • Acumen in discerning evolving social media trends and crafting platform-specific content.

    • Clear and concise communication skills in both written and verbal formats.

    • An innate eye for aesthetics coupled with meticulous attention to detail.

    The Role:

    • Collaborate closely with our rental team to brainstorm and craft innovative video content ideas.

    • Film and refine video content, adapting it for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more.

    • Document behind-the-scenes glimpses, events, or other poignant moments that exemplify DFI Rentals' brand ethos.

    • Engage holistically in the content creation process, from initial ideation to post-production.

    • Spearhead digital campaigns by producing captivating video and photo materials.

    • Analyze performance metrics and fine-tune content approaches based on insights.

    • Partner occasionally with team members on larger film or promotional initiatives to gain genuine, hands-on production experience.

Type: Part-time (3 days a week)

    • Work Location: In person

    • Schedule: 8 hour shift, 9am-5pm with occasional overtime or call-ins as necessary.

    • Job Description:
 We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Technician to join our team who is responsible for maintaining the integrity and reliability of our equipment inventory. As a QC Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and preparing film equipment upon return to ensure it meets our quality standards.

    • Key Responsibilities:

      • Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

      • Assist in inventory organization as needed.

      • Assist in properly checking in equipment that has returned in a detailed, thorough and timely manner.

      • Highlight and make note of missing or damaged equipment from orders.

      • Perform applicable technical and physical tests on rental equipment.

      • Assist in checking out and prepping camera packages and other rental equipment.

      • Provide clients with great customer service.

      • Help maintain a clean and organized facility.

      • Additional responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.

    • Requirements

      • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited film program or equivalent technical, hands-on industry experience.

      • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.

      • Exemplary technical knowledge of film production equipment, ability to troubleshoot and repair professional camera, lighting, sound, and grip equipment.

      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing demands.

      • Impeccable attention to details in relation to gear’s condition, specs, and composition, ability to identify potential issues pertaining to gear before they arise.

      • Computer proficiency skills

      • Must be in good physical condition to meet the demand of the position; must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    • Preferred Qualifications:

      • Previous experience as a quality control technician, assistant camera position, or similar role, preferably in the film or film equipment rental industry.

      • Proficiency with gear and technical workflow in the field.

    • Compensation

      • DFI Rentals offers a competitive base salary in the range of $18/h-$24/h, with variation depending on experience. Total compensation package will include base salary, quarterly bonuses, and paid time off.
